Event | The Big Kahuna

THE-BIG-KAHUNA-OCT-13-640x895

Spring is here, the chills are moving on, and it’s getting to event season here in Melbourne. For that reason, we’ve teamed up with Sneaker Freak and Globe to get things rolling mid-October. The Big Kahuna is the result, and it’s going to be an awesome day.

We want as many cool cars and bikes as possible to show up on the day to make it a really cool mix of cultures and styles, so bring your ride along and join in on the action.

Check out the details below.

With over 100 tables chockablock with sneakers, records, toys, bikes and bike parts, vintage street wear and retro sports apparel, this will be an epic day for all purveyors of street style. Food and coffee will be available all day thanks to the Salford Lads Club and Melbourne’s finest food trucks. OG Melbourne DJs will supply the block rocking tunes.

Thanks to FUEL, Tank Moto, Saintside and Gripshiftslide, we’ll also have a mix of hot rods, muscle cars, cruisers, lowriders, JDM and motorbikes on display. There’s plenty of room, so if you’d like to bring your car or bike down, you’re welcome to join the party.

Entry is FREE, but don’t forget to bring cash, the nearest ATM is in Port Melbourne.

Six years ago, Australian Nigel Petrie had a vision that wouldn’t leave his mind, for over 3 years he mentally worked through the steps that would turn his vision into a reality. 2.5 years ago that mental build up, jumped from his head and into his hands, through hard work, persistence, skill and a lot of effort. What he once thought was inconceivable quickly become a reality. Take a journey into his world and see behind the ETS Drift Ute.

We didn’t exactly go far, it was just three quick days up to Sydney and country NSW, but it felt like more. Five photo shoots, two of them unplanned and impromptu, lots of driving in rental cars and cool as heck muscle, customs and hot rods, three full to the brim memory cards, and we met many many very nice people. It’s all over now, and we’re back on Melbourne soil.

All this juicy FUEL material now stays tucked away on the hard drive for a few weeks whilst we smash out TANK issue two over the coming days.
